【摘要】:Thispracticedefinesaprocedurethatensuresconsistentpreparationofspecimensforproducttestingandevaluation.Thispracticecanbeusedinthelaboratoriesofproducers,users,andgeneral-interestpartiesforresearchanddevelopmentorquality-controlwork.Itisparticularlyusefulforinterlaboratorycomparisonsonproducts,forrepetitiveevaluationsorcomparisonsofproductsorproductequality,andinspecifyingauniformpreparationpracticeforspecimensforacceptancetesting.Inusingthispractice,itmustberecognizedthatthestructureoflaboratory-pressedspecimensmaydiffersignificantlyfromthestructureofmaterialgunnedinfieldapplications.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforpreparingtestspecimensfrombasicrefractorygunningproductsbypressingpreparedmaterialinamold.Afterpressing,testspecimenspreparedfromdolomiticmixesaresubjectedtoaprescribedheattreatment.SpecimenspreparedinaccordancewiththisprocedureareintendedforuseinASTMtestmethods.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheaverageforcetopropagatetearingthroughaspecifiedlengthofplasticfilmornonrigidsheetingafterthetearhasbeenstarted,usinganElmendorf-typetearingtester.Twospecimensarecited,arectangulartype,andonewithaconstantradiustestinglength.Thelattershallbethepreferredorrefereespecimen.1.2Becauseof(1)difficultiesinselectinguniformlyidenticalspecimens,(2)thevaryingdegreeoforientationinsomeplasticfilms,and(3)thedifficultyfoundintestinghighlyextensibleorhighlyorientedmaterials,orboth,thereproducibilityofthetestresultsmaybevariableand,insomecases,notgoodormisleading.Provisionsaremadeinthetestmethodtocompensateforobliquedirectionaltearingwhichmaybefoundwithsomematerials.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin.Note1ThisstandardandISO6383-2aretechnicallyequivalent.
